About ILERA
ILERA is a Yoruba word meaning ‘Triumph in Health’. Our aim is to tackle systemic inequalities that prevent underserved women and girls from accessing healthcare, protection, and recognition and to improve thir health and wellbeing. We work with and for women and girls from displaced and rural communities.
ILERA is a women led and women’s rights based organisation committed to feminist and Pan African principles using a rights-based appraoch to achieve human rights and gender justice.
ILERA works with internally displaced communities in Abuja, and rural communities in Katsina State. Our community health centres offer a range of services including access to primary healthcare, sexual health, cancer screening, mental health, community health education and a safe space to report sexual assaults.
Our services ensure that every individual, regardless of their background, can enjoy their fundamental right to access reliable information and essential healthcare.
